To make these chocolate peanut butter bars, I started by dumping some Ritz crackers into a large Ziploc bag.

I used a rolling pin to crush the crackers well.

Then I dumped some butter into a glass measuring cup.

I microwaved the butter on high for 30 seconds.

Then I poured the partially melted butter into a large mixing bowl.

I added some smooth peanut butter to the bowl with the butter.

I used an electric mixer to cream together the butter and peanut butter until smooth.

Then I added the Ritz cracker crumbs and some confectioner's sugar to the bowl.

I continued mixing with the electric mixer until all of the ingredients were fully combined.

Then I scooped the mixture into a 9 x 13 inch baking dish and spread it out evenly.

I dumped some semi sweet chocolate chips into a glass measuring cup.

Then I added some peanut butter.

I microwaved the peanut butter and chocolate chips on high for 45 seconds and then stirred them well.

The chocolate chips weren't completely melted so I returned the glass measuring cup to the microwave for an additional 30 seconds.

Then I stirred again until all of the chocolate chips were completely melted.

I poured the melted chocolate over the peanut butter mixture in the baking dish and spread it out evenly.

Then I placed the baking dish in the refrigerator and left the peanut butter bars to chill for two hours.

After two hours I removed the dish from the fridge and sliced the bars.

I cut the pan into 24 large squares but you could cut them smaller if you prefer.

  • 1 cup butter, salted
  • 1 cup smooth peanut butter
  • 2 cups Ritz cracker crumbs (6 oz of Ritz crackers crushed with a rolling pin or heavy bottomed pot)
  • 2 cups confectioner's sugar

  • 1 ½ cups semi sweet chocolate chips
  • ¼ cup smooth peanut butter

  1. Place the butter in a microwave safe bowl and microwave on High for 30 seconds.
  2. Pour the partially melted butter into a large mixing bowl.
  3. Add the peanut butter to the mixing bowl.

  5. Add the Ritz cracker crumbs and confectioner's sugar to the bowl.
  6. Continue mixing with the electric mixer until all of the ingredients are fully combined.
  7. Dump the mixture into a 9 x 13 inch baking dish and spread it out evenly.
  8. Pour the chocolate chips into a microwave safe bowl.
  9. Add the ¼ cup of peanut butter to the bowl.
  10. Microwave on High for 45 seconds and stir well.
