To make this casserole recipe, I started by cooking a pound of spaghetti according to the directions on the package.

I drained the spaghetti and set it aside.

 STEP 2:

Then I removed the casings some from raw mild Italian sausage and dumped the meat into a large pot over medium-high heat.

I crumbled the sausage meat well as it cooked.

Once the sausage meat was fully cooked I added some marinara sauce to the pot.

I dumped some sour cream, cream cheese and basil pesto into a medium mixing bowl.

I used an electric mixer to cream all of the ingredients together well.

 STEP 6:

I added some shredded Italian cheese blend to the bowl.

I stirred the shredded cheese into the sour cream and cream cheese mixture.

 STEP 7:

I scooped half of the spaghetti mixture into a greased 9 x 13 inch baking dish and spread it out evenly.

I spread the sour cream and cream cheese mixture on top of the spaghetti.

 STEP 8:

I scooped the remaining spaghetti on top of the sour cream and cream cheese mixture.

I sprinkled some shredded Italian cheeses on top.

Million Dollar Spaghetti is a rich and indulgent dish, so it’s great to pair it with sides that complement its flavors and add balance to the meal. Here are some ideas for what you could serve alongside Million Dollar Spaghetti:
