Step by Step Instructions for Making Crock Pot French Onion Chicken

 STEP 1:

To make the French onion chicken, I started by slicing a large yellow onion.

I sprayed the inside of my Crock pot well with cooking spray and sprinkled the onion slices in the bottom.

I placed four boneless, skinless chicken breasts on top of the onions.

 STEP 2:

Then I poured a can of condensed cream of chicken soup into a mixing bowl.

I added a packet of onion soup mix to the bowl.

 STEP 3:

I also added some beef broth to the bowl.

Then whisked all of the ingredients together well.

 STEP 4:

Then I poured the mixture over the chicken breasts in the slow cooker.

I placed the lid on the Crock pot and turned it on to LOW.

I left the chicken to cook for five hours.

 STEP 5:

After five hours I placed some slices of provolone cheese on top of the chicken in the Crock pot.

I returned the lid to the Crock pot and left the chicken to continue cooking until the cheese was melted.

Once the cheese was well melted, I removed the lid from the Crock pot.

 STEP 6:

I sprinkled some thyme leaves on top.

Then I sprinkled some French’s crispy fried onions on top.

 STEP 7:

I left the dish to continue cooking on LOW with the lid off for about ten minutes, just to warm up the fried onions.

Then the French onion chicken was ready to serve.
