To make this cheese steak meatloaf, I started by heating some oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

I added some diced onions and diced green peppers to the skillet.

I also added some sliced mushrooms to the skillet.

I  added some salt and pepper to the skillet and stirred all of the ingredients together well.

I cooked the vegetables until the onions were translucent and the mushrooms were starting to brown.

Then I removed the pan from the heat and set it aside.

I dumped two pounds of lean ground beef into a large mixing bowl.

I added some eggs and milk to the bowl.

Then I added some bread crumbs and brown gravy mix to the bowl.

I also added some salt, pepper, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce and steak spice to the bowl.

I used my hands to combine all of the ingredients well.

Then I lined a 9.5 x 5 inch loaf pan with aluminum foil and sprayed it well with cooking spray.

I scooped approximately 2/3 of the meat mixture into the loaf pan and pressed it into the bottom and up the sides leaving the center hollowed out.

Then I placed some shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese in the center of the meatloaf.

I set aside 1/4 cup of the onion, peppers and mushroom mixture.

Then I dumped the remaining onions, peppers and mushrooms on top of the cheese along the center of the meatloaf.

Then I placed the remaining 1/3 of the meat mixture on top and spread it out to cover all of the filling completely.

Then I placed the loaf pan in the oven and baked the meatloaf for 50 minutes.

After 50 minutes, I removed the loaf pan from the oven.

Then I sprinkled some more shredded cheese on top.

I sprinkled the remaining 1/4 cup of onions, peppers and mushrooms on top of the cheese.

I returned the pan to the oven and baked it for an additional ten minutes until the cheese on top was completely melted.

Then I removed the pan from the oven again.

I left the meatloaf to rest in the pan for about 5 minutes.

Then I used the foil to lift the meatloaf from the pan.

Then the meatloaf was ready to slice and serve.
