To make this turkey dish, I started by dumping some butter into a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Then I added some diced onions and celery to the pan.
I stirred the onions and celery together and then added some sliced mushrooms to the pan.
I stirred well and allowed the vegetables to cook for a few minutes.
Then I added some diced green peppers and red peppers to the pan.
I stirred well and cooked the peppers for a couple minutes.
Then I added some all purpose flour to the pan.
I stirred until all of the vegetables were coated in flour.
Then I continued stirring until the flour started to brown.
I added some chicken broth to the pan.
I stirred until it thickened.
Then I added some heavy cream.
I stirred well and reduced the heat to low.
I added some onion powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper to the pan.
I stirred the spices into the sauce mixture.
Then I added some cooked, shredded turkey to the pan.
I stirred until all of the turkey was coated in sauce.
Then I left the dish to simmer for about five minutes to heat up the turkey.
Then the turkey a la king was ready to serve.
I served mine over some freshly baked Pillsbury biscuits.
