To make this turkey dish, I started by dumping some butter into a large skillet over medium-high heat.

I stirred well and cooked the peppers for a couple minutes.

Then I added some all purpose flour to the pan.

I stirred until all of the vegetables were coated in flour.

Then I continued stirring until the flour started to brown.

I added some chicken broth to the pan.

I stirred until it thickened.

Then I added some heavy cream.

I stirred well and reduced the heat to low.

I added some onion powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper to the pan.

Then I added some cooked, shredded turkey to the pan.

I stirred until all of the turkey was coated in sauce.

Then I left the dish to simmer for about five minutes to heat up the turkey.

Then the turkey a la king was ready to serve.

  8. Continue cooking until the flour starts to brown.
  9. Add the chicken broth to the pan and stir until it thickens.
  10. Add the heavy cream to the pan, stir and reduce the heat to low.
  11. Add the onion powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper to the pan and stir well.
  12. Add the shredded turkey and stir until all of the turkey is coated in the sauce.
  13. Leave the dish to simmer for 5 minutes.
  14. Serve over biscuits, toast, rice or noodles.
