To make this creamy chicken dish, I started by dumping some butter into a large saute pan over medium-high heat.

Once the butter was melted, I added some diced onions and sliced mushrooms to the pan.

I stirred the onions and mushrooms well as they cooked.

I cooked the mushrooms and onions until the onions were translucent.

Then I added the some diced green peppers to the pan.

I stirred the diced green peppers into the diced onions and sliced mushrooms.

Then I added some all purpose flour to the pan.

I stirred well.

I continued cooking the flour and vegetable mixture for four minutes, stirring occasionally.

Then I added some chicken broth to the pan.

I stirred until the broth and flour formed a thick mixture.

Then I added some heavy cream to the pan.

I stirred until the cream was combined with the broth mixture.

Then I reduced the heat to low and added some onion powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper to the pan.

I stirred well again.

Then I added some diced pimentos and shredded rotisserie chicken to the pan.

  • 6 oz sliced mushrooms
  • 1 cup diced green peppers
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1/3 cup pimentos, diced, drained
  • 2 1/2 cups cooked, shredded chicken

How to Make Chicken a la King:
