 STEP 1:

To make this cheeseburger pasta, I started by dumping a pound of lean ground beef into a large pot over medium-high heat.

I added some diced onions to the pot with the ground beef as it was cooking.

 STEP 2:

I made sure to crumble the ground beef well.

Once the ground beef was fully cooked, I drained the excess grease from the pan.

Then I added some water to the pot with the ground beef and brought it to a boil.

 STEP 3:

Once the water was boiling, I added some cavatappi noodles to the pot.

I spread the noodles out evenly so that they were all almost fully submerged in the liquid.

 STEP 4:

Then I placed a lid on the pot and left it to continue boiling, stirring occasionally, for ten minutes.

After ten minutes, I reduced the heat to medium and stirred the pasta well.

I added some heavy cream, condensed cream of bacon soup and condensed cheddar cheese soup to the pot.

 STEP 5:

I stirred well and left the pasta to continue cooking for three minutes.

Then I added some salt, pepper, garlic powder and onion powder to the pot.

 STEP 6:

I stirred well again.

Then I added some shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese blend and crumbled bacon to the pot.

I stirred until the cheese was melted and then removed the pot from the heat.

 STEP 7:

I sprinkled some more shredded cheese and crumbled bacon on top of the pasta but did not stir this time.

How should I store Bacon Cheeseburger Pasta?

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. You can also freeze this pasta for up to 3 months. Reheat thoroughly before serving. You may want to add a bit of additional liquid when reheating to get the desired consistency.

What substitutions can I make?

  • Cream of Bacon Soup and Cheddar Soup: Instead of one can of each flavour you could use 2 of the same. If you can’t find either of the two flavours then you could use any 2 cans of condensed cream of soups.
  • Cavatappi Noodles: You can use any short pasta noodles for this recipe. You may need to adjust cooking time slightly.
  • Ground Beef: Any ground meat would work for this recipe including ground chicken or sausage meat.
  • Mozzarella and Cheddar Cheese: A variety of cheese would work well for this recipe including Monterey jack and provolone.
