To make this lasagna ravioli, I started by dumping some lean ground beef into a pot over medium-high heat.
I crumbled the ground beef well as it cooked.
I added some diced yellow onions to the pot with the ground beef while it was cooking.
I stirred the ground beef and onions together well.
Once the ground beef was fully cooked, I drained the grease from the pot.
Then I added some marinara sauce to the pot.
I stirred until all of the ground beef was coated in sauce and then reduced the heat to low.
I dumped some ricotta cheese into a mixing bowl.
Then I added some shredded Parmesan cheese, basil pesto, salt, pepper and an egg to the bowl.
I stirred until all of the ingredients were fully combined.
Then I spooned 1/3 of marinara and ground beef mixture into the bottom of a greased 9 x 13 inch baking dish.
I placed some frozen cheese ravioli on top of the sauce, spreading it out as evenly as possible.
Then I spooned another 1/3 of the sauce mixture on top of the ravioli.
I spooned all of the ricotta mixture on top and spread it out evenly.
Then I sprinkled some shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the ricotta mixture.
Then I placed another layer of frozen cheese ravioli on top of the mozzarella.
I spooned the remaining 1/3 of the sauce mixture over the ravioli.
Then I sprinkled some more shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
Then I covered the lasagna with aluminum foil and placed it in the oven.
I baked the lasagna, covered, for thirty minutes.
After thirty minutes, I removed the foil and continued baking the lasagna until it was bubbling and the cheese on top was completely melted and starting to brown.
I removed the dish from the oven and let the lasagna sit for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
This hearty baked ravioli is sure to please the whole family.
The cheese ravioli adds an extra layer and texture that traditional lasagna doesn’t have.
