To make this manicotti pasta, I started by cooking the manicotti shells in boiling water for 7 minutes.

Then I drained the noodles and rinsed them well with cold water until they were cooled down.

While the pasta was cooking, I started preparing the filling.

I dumped some ricotta cheese and sour cream into a large mixing bowl.

I added an egg and some Italian seasoning, salt and pepper to the bowl.

I stirred all of the ingredients together until they were fully combined.

Then I added some shredded mozzarella cheese and shredded parmesan cheese to the bowl.

I stirred well again.

I sprayed a 9 x 13 inch baking dish well with cooking spray.

Then I poured some Bolognese sauce into the bottom of the dish and spread it out evenly.

I scooped the ricotta mixture into a large Ziploc bag.

Then I cut one corner of the bag and squeezed the filling into the cooked manicotti shells.

I set the filled shells on top of the Bolognese sauce in the baking dish.

Then I spooned some more Bolognese sauce on top of the manicotti.

I sprinkled some shredded mozzarella cheese on top.

Then I placed the dish in the oven and baked the pasta until the cheese on top was fully melted and just starting to brown around the edges.

I removed the dish from the oven and allowed the pasta to sit for a few minutes before serving.

Ingredients You’ll Need to Make This Manicotti:

  • 12 manicotti shells
  • 1 1/2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 egg, large
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/3 cup shredded parmesan cheese
  • 2 1/2 cups jarred Bolognese sauce

Optional Garnish

  • 1 tsp chopped parsley

How to Make Manicotti:

  1. Preheat oven to 375F.
  2. Cook the manicotti in boiling water for 7 minutes.
  3. Drain and rinse the manicotti with cold water until they are completely cooled down.
  4. Dump the ricotta, sour cream, egg, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper into a large mixing bowl.
  5. Stir until all of the ingredients are fully combined.
  6. Add 1 cup of the shredded mozzarella to the bowl.
  7. Add the parmesan cheese to the bowl.
  8. Stir well.
  9. Spray a 9 x 13 inch pan well with cooking spray.
  10. Pour one and a half cups of the Bolognese sauce into the baking dish and spread it out evenly.
  11. Scoop the ricotta mixture into a large Ziploc bag.
  12. Cut one corner of the bag and squeeze the mixture into the cooked manicotti shells.
  13. Set the the stuffed shells on top of the Bolognese in the baking dish.
  14. Spoon the remaining cup of Bolognese sauce over the manicotti.
  15. Sprinkle the remaining cup of shredded mozzarella on top.
  16. Place the dish in the oven and bake until the cheese on top is completely melted and starting to brown around the edges. 30 – 35 minutes.
  17. Remove the dish from the oven and allow the pasta to sit for a few minutes before serving.
  18. Sprinkle with chopped parsley if desired.
  19. Serve and enjoy!
